Completion of a new soil analysis laboratory

In September 2013 KAIN started with the development of a completely new reference soil laboratory for a client. The project began with just a “plan”, there was nothing; no instruments, no personnel, no developed and validated methods and no laboratory. In January 2015, 16 months later, the project ended with the delivery of a fully operational laboratory were soil sample characteristics are routinely determined by more than 10 newly developed and fully validated methods. Evaluation and assessment of two laboratories in Egypt

As part of a development plan a client wants to increase the analytical level of two laboratories in Egypt. One of the laboratories, located in the Nile Delta, is specialised in analysing water, soil, plant and nematode samples from local farmers. The laboratory is important for the area because they support the farmers in maintaining the crop yield of their farmland at a high level. The other smaller laboratory is located in Cairo and investigates the water quality from a sewage plant.

Looking for a needle in a haystack

A client wants to know which substances yield antibiological activity in some hay samples. The assignment fits within KAIN's service "What is the composition of my product or the product from my competitor". Therefore, KAIN decided to accept the assignment, but because of its complexity and the limited budget, on a "no cure, no pay" basis.
